Within the ever-changing world that we live in, protection and safety have become more critical than ever. Security Guard Services is one of the quickest developing businesses and one of the most dangerous and controversial careers of choice.

We hear about vandalism, damages, and injuries every day due to the deficiency of security and gaps in safety protocol. We further learn about tragic domestic terrorism within our country far too often, and security guards are frequently put into dangerous situations that necessitate difficult decisions.

The central purpose of trained security guards is to protect people and assets. Both material assets and physical safety and protection are the primary function of a professional security guard who must act as an impediment to violence and destruction.

In the absence of professionally executed security measures performed by exceptionally proficient and trained security companies and guards, we would read about a rise in violence, looting, physical harm, and successful domestic attacks in our newsfeed. We cannot state enough the significance of sufficient high-level defense. Fortunately, many reputable security companies provide expert security services to help you protect you, your family, your employees, and your physical assets.

De-escalation and Use of Force

Security guards train to think quickly and make critical decisions when a significant threat arises. Their training calls for de-escalation strategies to implement first and foremost to reduce the use of force. Professional security guards are specialists in de-escalation techniques and can often defuse a potentially dangerous situation. Unfortunately, some problematic individuals are unwilling to take a step back and continue to threaten individuals’ physical well-being or businesses’ safety.

With the recent upheaval in our society, we are witness to riots, violent protests, looting, and loss of life. Security personnel can play a critical role in keeping people safe, maintaining crowd control, and guarding homes and business assets.

The Media’s Coverage of Security Guards

Often we hear of untrained, unlicensed people posing as security guards, inflicting undue injury to the public, or taking even more severe measures. These cases are given huge precedence in the media with articles being featured by Google, New York Times, Washington Post, and more.

These events are shocking and regrettable and could have been prevented. Those companies or individuals who hired untrained and unlicensed people neglected to vet them, and as so often happens in these situations, tragedy struck.

The other news we hear about is when a professional security guard is put in a dire position to use force by drawing a weapon that includes pepper spray, or a taser. The media is quick to denounce their actions, often siding with a perpetrator who posed a significant threat of harm to people or property destruction.

The Reality of a Security Guards Job

The reality is that security guards put themselves in harm’s way every day, and we are reading about guards losing their lives in the line of duty now, more than ever.

The threats that they face range from looters to violent protestors to potential robberies. And all the while, a skilled, licensed guard will seek to protect those he is hired by first and foremost.

Security officers take their job of securing the safety of those they’re assigned to extremely serious and are trained in defensive safety measures. If a qualified, professional security guard encounters a dangerous threat and de-escalation techniques haven’t worked, as a last resort, guards are trained to use non-lethal weapons that include pepper spray, a taser, or baton. While utilizing extreme measures is the last option, often in the process, physical harm has been averted.

Thank You, Security Officers!

We know guards are doing an essential job for our safety when we’re at stores or an event. Businesses rest easy when their officer is on his or her post. Personal protection security officers lend an air of peace in often tense situations.

Don’t fall for cheap ads in Craigslist, advertising security guards. A licensed, professional security company is the first and only place you should look for your safety and security.
